Here is some background info: The promise by Republicans to filibuster all elements of President Biden's signature domestic legislation has led Congressional democrats to bypass the normal legislative process we learned about and to pass the program through the so-called "budget reconciliation" process. Biden had initially proposed an American Families Plan and a separate American Jobs Plan. The legislation that will be voted on soon amounts to a compromise between moderate and left-wing Democrats that synthesizes the two previous plans. It is not one program but a host of initiatives from child care subsidies, to monthly tax credits to American families, to clean energy subsidies. It is paid for by increasing taxes on corporations, wealthy Americans, and increasing enforcement activity against those companies and individuals who cheat on their taxes. Any questions let me know.
