Paper Guidelines: 1. Identify a social organization that has been instrumental in addressing a particular social diversity issue and contributing toward social change. Briefly define the social issue on the local, state, national and international level. Does this organization have a presence on all levels? Why or why not? 2. Give a brief history of the organization. Where, why and when did it form? Who were the founders and what were their goals for the organization? How has the organization grown and changed since its foundation? 3. Explain the political and economic climate during the time period in which the organization formed. How did the political and economic structures contribute to the social diversity issue, and how did they contribute to the formation of this organization? How influential is this organization in the current political and economic climate? Please analyze on the local, state, national and international level. 4. How does the organization engage in social action? What form of social action do they utilize: policy, advocacy and/or innovation? What major contributions has the organization made to society? In your opinion, have they accomplished their foundation goals? Why or why not? 5. In your opinion, how should their work be continued in society? Which aspects of the organization should remain the same and which should change? What are your suggestions for improvement?
