Learning Goal: I'm working on a management discussion question and need a sample draft to help me learn.Watch this short video on the moral and legal personhood of artificial intelligence. The main question is, “Should we (humans) grant them (artificial intelligent agents) moral and legal personhood?” While this question may seem a bit far-fetched, our current technologies are quickly approaching a time when this will be a real question. Is it possible to “enslave” an artificially intelligent being (like a robot)?
Do we consider any of our current artificially intelligent technologies to be moral agents? If so, why? If not, why not?
What are the implications if we grant artificially intelligent beings, like robots, moral status? What are our obligations to them? Would those duties be less than humans, and, if so, why?
