Provide a general overview and chronological framework of EITHER the Upper Paleolithic or Mesolithic era. Describe how this era functions as a cultural "stage" of human development in light of the important human adaptations and cultural complexities that appear at this stage. Cite evidence for such developments from at least two relevant archaeological sites (corresponding to that era and its geographical range). For example, what kind of artifacts and cultural expressions are found at these sites? What can we infer about the peoples who created them? For example, what kind of subsistence strategies were humans using in this era?
