Assignment: Teaming Up With Other Organizations When a team of cyclists race together, they do not ride their bicycles shoulder to shoulder with their teammates. They pedal in single file, and each cyclist takes their turn in the front of the line. The cyclist in the front will face the brunt of the onrushing wind, while the cyclists behind the leader do not have to exert as much force to maintain the pace of the leader. When the frontrunner tires, her teammate at the back of the line will race to the front to replace her. Now, the new frontrunner will face the headwind while the rest of the team rides behind. This process continues throughout the race and allows the team to ride faster and more efficiently than any member could alone. Similarly, human services organizations will partner with each other to improve the scope and effectiveness of their services to the target populations they serve.
